Extending a welcome to all new site members. We used to welcome everyone individually but with so many new people joining the site, it became impossible to keep up with, so here is a general welcome to everyone new!
I am thinking that if we keep getting so many nofitications of sign ups that we will send an email blast to anyone that has joined in the month, so let me know if you prefer not to receive anything .

Those of you who have visited this site over the years, will have noticed how the Members Forum/Message Board feature has come and gone at various times. As my dear hubby says 'it's been up and down like a t**t's knickers'. I can only apologise for his crudeness but he has a point!
The reason for this is that it takes a lot of time and effort to keep checking up and responding to posts, without email alerts to new postings. We get around to responding but it doesn't happen instantly!
We have had a lot of new people signing up as Members to the site this year and it is very difficult to communicate with everyone. We also get questions on all kinds of things via the contact form, some of which we can answer and some we can't. There is is bound to be someone out there that can though, so maybe the Message Board would be a good place for that to happen.
Also lots of you have posted lovely comments on your profiles and it would be nice if Members could have the chance to communicate with others via the Message Board. Some people do just sign up, pay us a whirlwind visit and never come back but sometimes people want a cosy place to stay and mix with others.
There are lots of sites out there on the internet to visit but I would like this site to become a welcome place to 'take a break' and for people to come back from time to time. We don't profess to be 'any great shakes' but I hope that those who sign up feel that they are very welcome here and that we love to hear from everyone who visits, no matter how long or short they stay!
So, with these points in mind I have decided to put it back up again, with a view for people to post general comments and for others to respond, as they wish. Members can meet there if they wish. I have no idea how it will work out, as the success really depends on the input of Members but let's give it a go shall we!

Just a quick post to say although it has gone a bit quiet, I'm still here, just bogged down with all kinds of life issues at the moment.
I was quite blown away to see that the number of site members has gone over the 3000! That certainly crept up on me. Many people join up for a bit, some revisit lots of times and some drop in from time to time. So thank you to all who have joined the site. I hope you have enjoyed your time here.
There will be a small template coming soon for Members, I am just trying to work up a demo, so I can post some pictures.
I am also trying to get back to updating the Facebook page, so there will be uploads of project photos since Christmas posted there soon too.
There are plenty of ideas in the pipeline as well, some of which I am quite excited about. More about that later!
Don't forget that if you are looking for some inspiration for Mother's Day, just visit our Member pages for lots of projects, as well as the photo gallery of course! If you don't want to join up, just scroll back through the blog posts, as all our projects are featured there too.
One final thought, I keep wondering whether to bring back the forum, it has come and gone in the past. The problem is keeping up with the posts, as it takes a lot of time to manage a forum as well as a website, so I might post up a quick survey to get peoples thoughts on that. I certainly get lots of questions and sometimes end up answering them multiple times, so it is a good way to post questions.
Anyway, that is it for now with this quick update.

A huge apology to people who have tried to join up to the site over the last month and a half. Unfortunately, we have only just discovered that the Automatic Acceptance on the members application was switched off. No idea how that happened! I can only assume it was something that the site provider did. Anyway, this has meant that any new members have been waiting for ages to get their site applications approved and for that we are truly sorry. I hope you enjoy browsing the site and watch out for some rather belated Valentines Day projects being posted soon!

Thanks to those who have supported this site.
Please do keep supporting us so we can keep offering new projects and ideas for years to come!
Wishing all our members a very happy and prosperous New Year!

Just a quick post to say that the Members Message Board is back and open for business. It has been up and down over the last few years, mainly because of lack of use (by me as well as members) but we'll try a trial run with it up again.
I get so many enquiries and questions via the Contact Us form, so if you would prefer to visit the Message Board and post your question or message there instead, then please feel free to do so. That way everyone gets to benefit from your question or issue and I can respond to you there!
Also, you can interact with the almost 2,200 other members we now have signed up to this site. I know that many just visit and then go but many also leave very long and detailed profile messages on their Member pages, that are so easy to miss and it is so hard to find anyone when you have so many people.
I can barely keep up with the new members these days and no longer post individual 'Welcome' messages on Member profiles, so I'd like to say - a big WELCOME to all the new members on the site.
Please do take the time to visit the Message Board and leave a comment there. If you post on the Message Board, then people can find you and you might just run into someone you know!

I love creating pretty things and this project had been in my mind for a while. I wanted to create a mini wreath, which could be used as a decorative piece to hang on an inside door or alternatively as an unusual Christmas Card.
So here is the result of this experiment. The photos don't really do it justice but you get the idea. If you would like to find out more about this project, read on...
Cut out your basic circle, using the template and then cut out the inner circle. I've used a good stiff card for this project.
Tip: The best way to do this is to cut across the circle several times and then cut each segment out. This keeps it neat and is easier to do and is the best way to cut out aperture cards too.
Now you have your wreath which you can go to town with and decorate it with all those leftover pieces in your stash. Use ribbons, cords, glitter glues, stick on gems, die cuts etc, whatever you want to use up. The inspiration for this project was actually a bag of Christmas ribbons I found at the bottom of a box!
Making the flowers
I've added punched flowers to my wreath, as well as ivy and holly leaves. The template includes leaves and a flower, so don't worry if you don't have a flower punch. You could also use stickers or die cuts if you have them too. Layer up the flowers to create a nice dimensional effect
Here is the finished wreath, with some ribbon, stick on gems, some punched stars and smaller daisy flowers. Add whatever you like!
Add a tag with a message and sent it as an unusual Christmas Card.
If you want to make this project, then head to the Member Pages to find the templates for this 24 Days of Christmas Series. We have lots more templates, available free to all on this blog too, so you don't need to join up. Just browse through the recent blog posts. You can also register with the site to get lots more free stuff.
Look out for another project on the blog soon!
If you have any comments or questions please leave them below.

I'm very happy to announce that the website counter has just registered that we now have 500 members and subscribers to the site, not including Facebook followers!
This is great news, so I'm thinking that to celebrate, there will be a special surprise giveaway to a randomly drawn member of the site.
All you have to do is leave a comment on my member profile (Imy) or send me a message through the member inbox and title it '500 members',
The prize might be a pack of items from the webstore or a downloadable template/s of choice, depending on where in the world the winner is.
There will probably be a few more giveaways coming up too as I'm having a real clear out of my cupboards!!

Unfortunately, we are having to reduce the membership discount on webstore orders to 5% of the total order before shipping. Our webstore prices remain very competitive and with increasing costs attached to the running of the website, including processing fees, we are no longer able to offer the higher discount.
Any orders currently being processed will be discounted at the 10%. If you wish to place an order and take advantage of the member discount, please remember to contact us first, so that we can send you an adjusted invoice, otherwise it has to be sent as a refund and this often gets overlooked. With almost 300 members on the site, we do need to be reminded if you are a member!

A big welcome to all the new members, we have had over the last couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy having a browse around our site.
If you have enjoyed looking at our projects and downloading our free stuff, please take the time to leave a comment, either on our blog, photo gallery, guest book, testimonial page or the message board. There are lots of ways you can leave us some feedback and this is very important to how the site develops!

For those of you in the northern hemisphere, autumn or fall is approaching, so I thought this Marigold Card in lovely orange and brown hues, would compliment the arrival of the new season. If you would like to see how this card was made, read on!
This card has been made with the number 8 template, using two of each size of flower. I find this template easiest to use when you print it directly to the card you want to use, rather than drawing around a card template. This cuts down the time taken to make it considerably.
Print two sheets of the layering templates. Put your paper in the printer so that it will print on the reverse side. When you cut the flowers out, you can flip them over and you won't see any of the lines from the template. I haven't remembered to do this on one of my sets of prints and you can see that it shows in the photo below.
When you have cut out your pieces, rub around the edges of each flower with Spiced Marmalade Distressed Ink. You can be as liberal as you like as stronger colour gives more depth. If you don't have inks, then use chalks and seal them with some hairspray.
You can then shape the flowers, with a shaping tool or the end of a biro. Bend some of the petals backwards and some forwards, for variation.
Next, layer up the flowers, making a slight turn on each layer so that the petals behind can be seen. By using two of each size, you get a lovely full flower effect. Finish off with a pearl in the centre.
For the background, I have used a Hero Arts stamp, called Sandra's letter and some Brilliance gold ink on a dark brown card. I deliberately wanted a soft look to the background but with some sparkle to it. Wrap some ribbon around the background before mounting it on a cream square card blank.
I've added another brown gross grain ribbon onto of the orange ribbon for contrast. Now, add your flower, dust with some perfect pearls (I've used sunflower gold) and you are done!
I hope you have enjoyed this short tutorial, using the new flower layering template. If you like these layered flower cards, have a look at lots of other tutorial blog posts using layering templates. Just click on the category 'Cards' on the Blog menu on the right hand sidebar.

I am delighted to say that the site now has 100 members (97 members and 3 site subscribers), not bad going for a new site! And this post is also the 200th post on the blog so that fits quite nicely I think.
To mark the occasion, the first member to email us will get a free card template download of their choice. Just put '100 members' in the subject line and make sure the email address is the same as the one you registered on the site with.
You need to be a current member...ie. one on our list right now at the time of posting this post. Don't worry if you haven't joined up yet, you can still have a look at the VIP member page and see how you can get involved in more freebies!

The new VIP Membership here!
Its easy to become a VIP member, all you have to do is become 'active' by contributing regularly to the site through blog comments, photo uploads and forum posts.
New freebies will be made available to our VIP members. We will still keep the freebies that are currently available on the members' pages and will add things from time to time but most new freebies will be for our 'active' members. So if you want to get involved, just read here.

Well, this site will have been up and running for almost a year and we thought it was time we had a review of things. We have really enjoyed the last year and we hope we have brought you some really interesting and different projects on the blog. We work hard to be creative and innovative and this is a tough job as there is so much which has already been done out there.
Anyway, we are delighted to say that we now have 82 members which is really great achievement for a small site like this. Many members have joined up to access the free templates and downloads we have on the site.
The intention was to bring members something extra for their committment to joining us and we think we have delivered some great free templates, backing papers and printables over the last few months.
We hope that by giving free stuff, that members will become more involved in the site by uploading photos to the gallery, commenting on blog posts and leaving notes in the testimonials section. This helps the site to grow into a community. We have had a bit of feedback but we would like to get more..much more!
So we have decided that we need to reward those 'Active' members who do take the time to give us feedback, either by entering the competitions, uploading photos or commenting regularly on blog posts.
So from now on, we will be putting in place a rewards scheme with extra freebies for those members who really contribute to helping this site grow.
We will still continue to offer limited freebies to all site members but the main focus will be on rewards for active members and any new free stuff will go there.
The freebies might take the form of templates, printables, digital images, backing papers or even vouchers to spend on the site, so you will be able to choose your reward which will be based upon your contributions.
We are still working on the details of how this will work but if you would like to get involved, then go ahead and get going by:
Let us know you are out there and like the site, tell us what you would like to see or what you think we could improve and start earning some special member rewards.

A big thank you to all members of the site. We now have 51 members and 2 site subscribers.
This is great news as membership has been steadily growing and it makes all the effort involved in running a site and blog worthwhile. There is always lots of work behind designing new projects and templates so to know that things get read and appreciated is a big plus!!
As a member you can access free templates and can get special discounts on purchases and you can contribute as much or as little as you like to the site.
We do love to see what you make too, so don't be shy, please do upload your projects and cards to the photo gallery for others to see and comment on. They can be on any theme and use any products.
If you have any queries or comments of suggestions then you can post on the forum.
If you have been happy with your products, then please leave a comment on the testimonial page of the site or you can put an entry in the guestbook. Visitors to the site do read these pages so it really is valuable to us if people leave us a comment.
Anyway, as we come to the end of 2010 and look back on 7 months of running the site, with all the ups and downs, we are excited to be planning new templates, projects and competitions for you for next year, so please do check back to see what is new!

We love to have new members so if you have been visiting us recently and want to take advantage of some great benefits then just register by clicking the button to the top right on the sidebar and follow the instructions.
Just as a reminder, as a member you can:
It's easy so come and join us!

Just a reminder that you can now sign into the site with your Facebook account.
If you get the following message "It appears that this is the first time you are logging in with a Facebook account. To proceed you may either attach an existing WebsID or create a new one", you will need to create a new account first (just register as a member on our site) unless you already have a WebsID (which you might do if you are already a member of another site in the Webs.com community.) Hope that makes sense!
Please email us if you have any queries or problems accessing the members page.
