So here goes with a test post. This was not the project that was intended to be first in the series but never mind, the rest will follow!
So we’ve made this style of card on the blog before for Easter and Christmas and they are so simple to do that I wanted to do a heart card version. Simply using strips of beautiful ribbon behind a die cut heart shape, or a hand cut heart like I have used here.
This is easy and very effective, especially if the light shines through transparent ribbons. This type of card is simple but looks expensive if you use your best quality ribbon scraps.Simply use some double-sided tape around the edges on the reverse side of the heart and stick the ribbons across the aperture, overlapping the slightly. Keep checking how it looks by flipping it over and readjust if necessary. This is the beauty of using the double-sided tape. When you have finished, cover the back with another piece of paper for neatness and simply mount onto the front of your card.
If you don’t have a heart template you can find one with different sized hearts on the Member pages which was posted for another project a few years back and I may get around to posting one for the exact size heart I used here, if we can get back on track with the Valentine's Day projects. They will be coming thick and fast to catch up!
Here an Easter project using this method with a photo instruction, to create beautiful and unique cards to keep!
And here is a Christmas Card, featuring the same technique
