Christmas '15' Series Baking Tray Advent

Posted on November 16, 2015 at 3:55 AM

No detailed project notes for this project but I have to say this was so much fun to make. I have this advent up in my kitchen, next to the stove and it certainly has brightened up the kitchen.

This is simple and super cheap to make. I picked up this baking tray in the discount store and decorated it with ribbons and buttons and added 24 tiles, from scallop and circle punches, with a small magnet on the back. I have used odd buttons, wooden embellishments and die cuts to decorate each one. This is a great tactile advent for little ones, as long as they are supervised. You could decorate a jar full of  numbered treats, so they can swap the tile for a treat or just take off each tile as you go through December. If you have time, spend a bit more time on it than I did and you can bring it out every year!

I go for the chocolate every time I'm afraid.

What a great idea! So many of us are sugar free these days (yes I know - HUGE sacrifce but really worth it health wise!)
Now I just need to come up with alternative inexpensive rewards!
