Distressed Easter Egg

Posted on March 14, 2016 at 9:15 PM

Another decorated egg today, which you can hang on your Easter Twig Tree. After trying out the alcohol inks, I wanted to try one using Distress Inks. This is the result, which I am very pleased with. I love the old feel to this egg, which makes a change from the usual bright pastels but looks very nice in my lounge room.

After dabbing my Distress Inks over the foam egg, I have gone ahead and used a diluted PVA or white glue to attach some stamped images around the egg. I then used a little more Distress ink to blend in the tissue and sprayed with my Mini Mister to get this lovely dappled effect, which works well on the egg. A final coat of gloss varnish protects the finished egg.

I'll be posting one more project using the tissue technique but in more traditional Easter or Spring colours, so stop by again if you would like to see how we made those!
